Make History at the Museum!

Join us for a morning of exploration, creativity, and fun at the Thomas County Museum of History and Lapham-Patterson House!  These family drop-in programs will engage your creativity and curiosity while exploring our community’s past.  Inspired by our popular summer camp programs, Make History at the Museum activities are hands-on and history-based.

 Make History… at Victorian Christmas!

December 14 & 15, 6pm-9pm, Thomasville Amphitheater

It’s time to get hands-on with history at this year’s Victorian Christmas celebration in downtown Thomasville on December 14th and 15th. The Thomas County Historical Society will host an activity table for all ages in the Amphitheater. Inspired by the popular “Make History at the Museum” program series, festivalgoers will make a Victorian-inspired holiday card with all the trimmings. The Historical Society and the Thomasville Visitors Center will provide all craft supplies. Crafters may work on their projects from 6pm until 9pm.

Volunteers will be on-hand to distribute supplies and lend a helping hand. If you would like to volunteer to help, please email Amelia at For more information on this and other programs, please visit or contact the Historical Society at 229-226-7664.

Everyone is also invited to visit the Lapham-Patterson House and the Thomas County Historical Society throughout Victorian Christmas to explore Thomasville’s history. The Lapham-Patterson House will feature holiday decoration displays provided by several local organizations including: Woodleaf Senior Living, Thomas County Middle School, and the John B. Gordon Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and more!
