Let the Museum Come to You!
The Thomas County Museum of History’s Outreach programs align themes across the curriculum to engage students in the understanding of local and national history. Each program consists of Educator-led activities, games, and primary source based exploration of Thomas County history matching the Georgia Performance Standards for grade levels 2-5, 8, and beyond- all within your own classroom. Programs are designed to last roughly one hour, for a maximum of 25 students, within the instructor’s classroom. Some activities may require additional interior or exterior space.
Existing outreach program topics include the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Victorian Era. We can work with you to develop program content that fits your time and curriculum. These programs are available at no charge for schools within Thomas County. Mileage may be charged for schools outside the county.
